Cootie Catchers!

I'm sure these lovely little items have more official name than "Cootie Catchers" but it is so much more fun to call them that! I think every girl can think back to her elementary school days when you would make these in class and play fortune teller with your friends. They are just as much fun now as they were back then, let me tell you.

I was recently at a lovely wedding for our friends Rory and Marie and they had "Cootie Catchers" on the table to play with. First of all, I think it was just an awesome idea to see how well we knew the couple. Secondly, it was a great way to break the ice if you are sitting near people you may not know too well! A favor and ice breaker in one!

Rory and Marie had some great questions such as "How many ball parks have they been to?" (Six!) and "What is Rory's favorite restaurant that Marie hates to go to?" (Pizza Hut!). You can get as creative as you would like with your questions and answers.

I found katskrafts on Esty and they make "Cootie Catchers" for wedding favors and they are very cool! She even offers to put your guests names on the print (for an additional cost) along with a space for the table number so that you can use them as place cards! Check out some of their work below!

For those of you who would rather go the DIY route, I have found a great template for you to use from Gail Lovely. Download it here.  Feel free to make it as fancy or as simple as you would like, and tweak it to match the theme of your wedding. Then, check out the video below that shows you how to fold the paper to get the desired effect! Good luck!
